The 42mm case is 18k white gold throughout, Rolex casting its own alloy at its in-house foundry with platinum or palladium added to achieve the precise tone. Against it sits a bidirectional rotatable bezel with a matt black Cerachrom ceramic insert, polished raised numerals and graduations standing out in high contrast against the dark surface. The screw-down Triplock crown provides triple waterproofness to 100 metres, a step up from the Twinlock system used on smaller Yacht-Master references.

The black dial carries Chromalight hour markers and hands in simple shapes, their long-lasting blue luminescence readable well after the light fades. A Cyclops lens sits over the date at three o'clock, the white gold applied markers and hands giving the black surface its only warmth. Calibre 3235 powers the watch, Superlative Chronometer certified to -2/+2 seconds daily. A paramagnetic Parachrom hairspring handles magnetic disturbance; Paraflex shock absorbers manage impact. The Perpetual rotor winds bidirectionally to approximately 70 hours of power reserve.

The Oysterflex bracelet is Rolex's own patented construction: titanium and nickel alloy metal blades overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer, a longitudinal cushion system built into the inner surface for wrist stability. A Glidelock extension allows length adjustment in 2.5mm increments without tools. The result is a bracelet that behaves like rubber on the wrist but carries the structural precision of a metal construction throughout.

A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
