Louis Moinet created the Moon watch to mark the 150th anniversary of Jules Verne's "Around the Moon," published a hundred years before Apollo XI accomplished the journey Verne imagined. The connection between the novel and the watch is material rather than metaphorical: a genuine lunar meteorite fragment sits encapsulated at 3 o'clock on a brass dial that has been engraved, crater by crater, to reproduce the visible face of the Moon. Gassendi, Tycho and Cassini appear in their actual positions, the topography achieved through expert hand engraving that gives the surface its characteristic rugged relief. Limited to 60 pieces, this is number 19.

Three different levels of openwork define the Neo case's visual architecture: the hour markers, the dial surface, and the open-worked lugs and vertical bridges each have their own void geometry, the overlapping layers giving the watch a three-dimensional depth that photographs do not fully convey. Roman numeral hour markers, constructed from three different geometrical sections, are a first for Louis Moinet and sit with precision against the engraved brass dial that takes considerable time to appreciate fully. The 45mm 316L stainless steel case houses all of this beneath a sapphire caseback. Calibre LM45, developed by Louis Moinet in collaboration with Concepto, runs the watch automatically at 28,800 vibrations per hour across 22 jewels. Côtes de Genève, diamond-cut edges, circular graining and pearling finish the movement, with the bevelled rotor carrying a Clou de Paris pattern in a concentric arrangement. Power reserve holds to 48 hours. A leather strap closes with a stainless steel clasp, keeping the case's own architecture the complete focus of the watch.
