Most dive watch bezels sit above the dial and rotate directly. The Aquatimer does something more deliberate: the external bezel transfers its rotation through a sliding clutch mechanism to an internal diving scale, the two connected invisibly within the case architecture. The SafeDive system then restricts that internal ring to counterclockwise rotation only, meaning any accidental bezel movement will always reduce the displayed elapsed dive time rather than increase it. In a genuine dive scenario, that distinction matters. The 42mm stainless steel case handles the construction, water resistance holding to 300 metres via a screw-in crown and solid caseback.
The blue sunray-brushed dial keeps its layout uncluttered: white luminescent markers and hands for maximum underwater visibility, an orange-tipped arrow seconds hand that reads instantly in any light condition, and a date window at three o'clock. A convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides sits over the surface, its curve adding visual depth to the dial beneath. IWC-manufactured Calibre 32111 drives the watch, updated in 2022 from the previous 44-hour movement to deliver a five-day power reserve across 164 components and 21 jewels. Running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it carries Côtes de Genève and perlage finishing, detail work typically reserved for dress watch movements and applied here beneath a solid caseback. A quick-change strap system allows tool-free strap changes.
This Aquatimer Automatic, Reference IW328801, has light scratches across the case, caseback and buckle, yet it remains in good condition. The rubber strap is in satisfactory form.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos. Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card. A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements. We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
